The famous cross country race in thorpe, dovedale since 1953
Dan Haworth from Matlock AC is the winner of the Dovedale Dash 2018 in a time of 25 mins and 41 secs.
Dan was 2nd last year. A brilliant race, very close to the all time record of Gary Booty in 1995 in 25:01
Alisdair wins the Izaak Walton Shield.
Second is Harry Holmes from Pudsey & Bramley AC, winning the Dog and
Partridge Tankard) (26:05).
First Lady home and first Under 18 Girl, just like last year, is Elsbeth Grant
from Matlock AC in a time of 31 mins and 42 secs. Elsbeth wins the Peveril of the
Peak cup and the Under 18 Avanti Jewellers cup. Elsbeth is getting faster and
faster every year! What a brilliant result. Alice Crane from Derby Mercury
was second Lady in 33:13 mins winning the Cyril Challinor Shield. She was also
the second Under 18 Girl.
​First Under 18 boy and third overall is Alex Ediker from Buxton AC in a time of 26 mins and 9 secs. Alex wins the Ian Hall Cup. Second is Will Tighe from Buxton AC (27:55).
First Under 14 boy is just like last year Patrick Welsh from QEGS/PMA in a a time of 31 mins and 34 secs. Patrick was 46th overall! Patrick wins the Mart Cup. Second is Josh Cotton from Derby AC (34:14). Poppie Mead from Derby AC was the first under 14 girl in a time of 35 mins and 31 secs. Second was Melanie Gould from Leamington (40:08).
The Under 18s and Under 14s did again really well this year and ended near the top ! Fantastic, well done !
First over 60 and winner of the Dorris Allen Salver is Malcolm Harris from Barrow Runners in a time of 38 mins and 23 secs.
First local Thorpe lady home and winner of the Matthew Parris Cup is Alison Wainwright in a time of 37 mins and 13 secs. First Thorpe man home and winner of the Bluebell Cup is Max Wainwright in a time of 27 mins and 24 seconds and sixth overall. Well done Wainwrights!
In total 1363 people finished the Dovedale Dash this year:

- 433 Women 18-60
- 65 Under 18s
- 75 Under 14s
- 84 Over 60s
The Under 10's children's race was won by Jonty Brown in 9 mins and 45 secs. Maggie Welsh was the first Under 10's girl in 11 mins and 48 secs. The Under 8's race was won by Matilda Hiycombe in 10 mins and 13 secs. First Under 8 boy was Archie Mead in 11 mins and 22 secs.
